Spring Rain will present a series of new sculptural works made especially for ELASTIC, while the gallery floor will be transformed by Løw's installation work Strata, 2012, first shown at the National Museum for Contemporary Art in Oslo in 2012. The concrete floor echoes the modular concrete cubes for which Løw is perhaps best known, and at the same time connects the gallery with the constructed city space outside. Løw's recent public works for the Henie Onstad Art Centre, Neon Winter and Social Geometry, underlined her interest in a constructivist understanding of functional form, and her new works for ELASTIC continue this exploration as both interlocking sculptural forms and functional concrete vases. Still, she sees these new works primarily as experiments with the manipulation of space and the changing relationships between geometric forms. Løw continues to work with the interface between modernist rationalism and the scale of the individual body, and here proposes an ultra-modernist idea of decorative art without decoration, a functional and modular enclosure of space that could potentially build a wall, or that could otherwise be considered as an aesthetic object.

Camilla Løw is based in Oslo, Norway. She gained her BA Hons in Sculpture at Glasgow School of Art in 2001. In the summer of 2012 she had her largest solo presentation to date at the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo with the exhibition

The Space of Shape -Time.

Løw produced three permanent new public commissions in 2012; Double Dynamics at the Oslo Art Academy, Neon Winter and Social Geometry at Henie Onstad Art Centre, Høvikodden, and Alphabet Street at Statoil's new headquarters, Snarøya, Oslo.
